How are you going to pay for it?

Written by Dixie Flatline

There are a lot of Americans, and a lot of Americans online.  While I am not an American, I end up debating Americans quite often.

Something that really burns me up (just one topic among many) is when people say things like ‘We need HillaryCare” or “Obama has to bring in single payer health care” or some such thing.

The US government is totally broke.  As Peter Schiff constantly points out, the US depends entirely upon the goodwill of foreigners to continue lending the US money that it can never repay.

When people ask for more government, more war, more entitlements, more socialism, more bailouts, who exactly do they believe is paying for this?  Who has been paying for it for the last 60 years?

The answer is no one.

Future generations will be forced to pay, or suffer through national bankruptcy.  Social Security retirees today are buying birthday presents for grand children that those same grand children will have to pay for well into their adult life, and perhaps pass on to their own children.

An amazingly evil trick of government is not only being able to steal from you now, but stealing the future prosperity of your children before they are even conceived.

When someone says, “We need program X” or “The government needs to do X”, remember to ask them,

“How are you going to pay for it?”
